DANIEL WANGLER

From an early age, Daniel was fascinated by food origins and their impact on people and the planet— a curiosity that shaped his career.

He started working in major retail seafood markets, developing a deep respect for the complexity of the seafood industry. His career eventually led him to a senior leadership position with Whole Foods Market, where he led the vision, strategy and execution of the seafood program for the southwest region.

Driven to educate and inspire, Daniel launched @theseafooddude and the mantra Eat Seafood Live Longer, promoting sustainable choices and locally sourced seafood. What began as a project soon evolved into a personal mission and business.

In 2024, a Texas oyster farmer invited him to help spotlight responsibly farmed oysters. That partnership ignited a mission: to support the Texas oyster industry and elevate its culinary and environmental value.

Daniel now collaborates with farmers, chefs, and retailers to promote Texas cultivated oysters—celebrating their flavor, sustainability, and craft. His work connects people to the sea and champions seafood as a force for good—one shuck at a time.
